6th National Conclave on Standards for Technical Textiles to Foster Innovation and Collaboration

The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), in collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles (MoT) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), is set to host the highly anticipated 6th National Conclave on Standards for Technical Textiles. Taking place on July 25, 2023, at the prestigious FICCI headquarters in New Delhi, the event promises to be an exciting platform for formulating cutting-edge standards in the dynamic field of technical textiles.

Following the resounding success of its five previous editions, the National Conclave serves as a pivotal forum to catalyze the development of groundbreaking standards and provide an exceptional platform for discussing the latest advancements in the industry. Notably, the event will feature esteemed addresses from prominent figures who have been instrumental in shaping the technical textiles landscape.

One of the key speakers at the conclave will be Rachna Shah, Secretary of the Ministry of Textiles, who will share her insights and perspectives with the distinguished delegates. Additionally, Pramod Kumar Tiwari, the Director General of the Bureau of Indian Standards, has also confirmed his participation, adding to the wealth of knowledge that will be shared during the event.

In a special session dedicated to GeoTech, BuildTech, and OekoTech standards and regulations, Brigadier Ashish Gambhir, VSM, Deputy Director General (PP & C) of the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), will address the delegates. His expertise in these areas will provide valuable guidance and foster discussions on maintaining quality and adhering to relevant regulations.

The primary objective of the conclave is to assess the current state of standardization in technical textiles and pave the way forward for future advancements. Participants will also delve into the recently issued Quality Control Orders (QCOs) and explore the ongoing process of aligning the Harmonised System of Nomenclature (HSN) codes with standards and QCOs.

The conclave will encompass all 12 sectors of technical textiles, and attendees are invited from various esteemed organizations such as the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Department of Financial Services, Oil Industry Safety Directorate, Border Security Force, BRO, Research Designs and Standards Organization, National Highway Authority of India, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, and many others. The participation of industry leaders, research institutes, academia, and manufacturers of technical textile products will foster collaboration, drive innovation, and strengthen the technical textiles ecosystem.
