In a decisive move towards promoting environmental responsibility and proper waste disposal, Crocodile Cloth has officially become a member of the Responsible Flushing Alliance (RFA). This strategic collaboration aims to combat the improper disposal of non-flushable wipes, particularly those marked with the prominent ‘Do Not Flush’ symbol.
Founded in 2019, Crocodile Cloth has carved a niche in the market with its industrial-grade disposable cleaning cloths, designed to tackle the toughest cleaning tasks. These robust wipes are tailored for handling greasy and grimy challenges both at home and in industrial settings. Larger and stronger than ordinary wipes, Crocodile Cloth is committed to efficient cleanup of oil, grease, grime, and adhesives on skin, tools, or surfaces.
The RFA, a coalition of wipes manufacturers, wastewater treatment groups, and public health advocates, welcomes Crocodile Cloth as a valuable addition to its mission. Lara Wyss, President of RFA, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “We are always excited to welcome new members into the organization, especially when they’re passionate about helping consumers know how to properly use and dispose of their product.”
Crocodile Cloth’s role within the RFA is expected to be pivotal in educating consumers about proper flushing habits. The company brings unique expertise to the alliance’s existing campaigns and new initiatives, reinforcing the importance of responsible waste management.
California’s Wet Wipes Labelling Law, implemented in July 2022, mandates the inclusion of the ‘Do Not Flush’ symbol on all packaging of non-flushable wipes. The law further requires the wipes industry to conduct consumer education campaigns to raise awareness about the symbol and guide consumers on the proper disposal of personal care products that cannot be flushed.
Bryce Kenimer, Director of Sales at Crocodile Cloth, emphasized the company’s commitment to being an authority in the wet cleaning wipe market. “Crocodile Cloth is built on a foundation that always keeps our people, product, and planet top of mind. Joining the RFA directly builds on top of our foundational values here at Crocodile Cloth,” he remarked.
As Crocodile Cloth embarks on this collaborative journey with the Responsible Flushing Alliance, the collective efforts of wipes manufacturers and environmental advocates take a significant step towards fostering sustainable practices and minimizing the impact of non-flushable wipes on wastewater systems and the environment.
