“ITAMMA President Mr. Bhavesh Patel signs Memorandum

We are happy to inform that at the FAAMA AGM at Jetwing Colombo 7, at 7:15 p.m. IST, the Memorandum of Understanding between ITAMMA and FAAMA will be signed virtually. One important participant in the Fabric & Apparel Accessory Manufacturers’ Association (FAAMA) clothing sector, which represents more than thirty of Sri Lanka’s top producers of clothing, accessories, and fabrics.

It is observed that the majority of Sri Lankan textile entrepreneurs and enterprises are in the garment industry, which purchases yarns from other nations and processes them using flat or circular knitting machines. Therefore, there are several options for implementing weaving.

Through this MoU, ITAMMA jointly with FAAMA will be developing a “Weaving Plant Project model” especially for Sri Lankan Garment Industry as a strong backward integration providing in-house stream of woven fabric supply for this Industry
