GTTES 2025 Opens in Mumbai with Industry Leaders

Mumbai, March 1, 2025 – The Global Textile Technology and Engineering Show (GTTES 2025), organized by the India International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society), began with a grand inauguration at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai. The three-day event, held from February 21 to 23, aims to showcase the latest advancements in textile machinery and promote global cooperation.

Inauguration and Key Highlights

The event was inaugurated by prominent personalities, including Dr. Kailash Shinde, Commissioner of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, and Mrs. Roop Rashi Mahapatra, Textiles Commissioner of India. Representatives from several countries, including South Africa, Belarus, Burkina Faso, Myanmar, and Turkey, also attended, highlighting the global significance of GTTES 2025.

Mr. Ketan Sanghvi, Chairman of India ITME, emphasized GTTES as a hub for technological innovation, featuring 210 exhibitors from 39 countries. The exhibition provides a platform for business collaborations, networking, and showcasing the latest products in the textile industry.

Focus on Sustainability and Innovation

Dr. Kailash Shinde highlighted the importance of sustainability, presenting a pilot project supported by the Ministry of Textiles and Reliance Industries to recycle and upcycle textile waste. The initiative aims to address the growing challenge of textile waste, which amounts to 2.4 kilotons per annum.

Product Launches and Innovations

The exhibition featured product launches from leading companies in various segments:

  • Weaving: New products from Laxmi Shuttleless Looms Pvt Ltd and others.
  • Digital Printing: Innovations by ColorJet India Limited.
  • Processing: New technologies from Caru-Natex and National Electrical Engineering Company.
  • Spinning: Solutions by Samruddhi Engineering.
  • Knitting & Garmenting: Advanced technology from Vertex Edge Tech.

These launches reflect the industry’s focus on advancing technology and efficiency in textile machinery.

Standardization and Indigenous Development

A special session by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) focused on the role of standardization in textile machinery and included the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) to promote industry collaboration.

Additionally, a Symposium on Indigenous Development of Textile Machinery was held, emphasizing the need for locally developed solutions and innovations in the industry.

Launch of India ITME 2026

The event also marked the official launch of India ITME 2026, setting the stage for future advancements in the textile industry. The India ITME Awards recognized outstanding contributions and innovations, encouraging excellence and continuous improvement in the sector.
