The report records a 9.5% year-on-year reduction in greenhouse gas emissions across 15 Korean business sites in 2025, alongside developments in bio-based coatings, recycled materials and responsible supply chain management.

LX Hausys America Inc., a manufacturer of building and decorative materials, has highlighted the environmental and sustainability achievements outlined in the 2026 Sustainability Report published by its parent company, LX Hausys Co., Ltd.

The report presents the company’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy, targets and performance, primarily covering activities and results from 2025, with selected developments from the first half of 2026.

A major highlight is the company’s continued progress under its 2050 Carbon Neutrality Roadmap. Across 15 Korean business sites included in its greenhouse gas inventory, LX Hausys achieved a 9.5% year-on-year reduction in greenhouse gas emissions in 2025.

To strengthen emissions management, the company also incorporated Safety and Environment key performance indicators into business division performance measures in 2025.

U.S. Manufacturing and Environmental Certifications

In the United States, LX Hausys operates manufacturing facilities in Adairsville, Georgia, producing VIATERA quartz, HIMACS solid surface materials and automotive fabrics.

According to the report, LX Hausys America holds ISO 14001 certification for environmental management and ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety management.

During 2025, LX Hausys reported a total of 159 environmental certifications and labels across its products, supporting transparency and helping customers make informed product selections.

The company’s ESG initiatives also extend to supply chain management and human rights. Key developments include the introduction of a new Supply Chain ESG Management Policy, ESG risk assessments covering 372 suppliers and the completion of its first human rights impact assessment in 2025.

Bio-Based Materials Support Sustainable Product Innovation

LX Hausys continues to incorporate bio-based and recycled materials into its product development activities, with a focus on resource circulation and reduced environmental impact.

In April 2026, the company launched Bio SMR Furniture Film, which uses a plant-derived bio-carbon coating applied to PET film through its SMR (SuperMatte Resist) matte coating technology.

The product’s bio-based carbon content was verified by Beta Analytic. It also passed a U.S. Food and Drug Administration food-contact safety assessment.

The development represents the company’s efforts to introduce bio-based materials into decorative surface applications while maintaining product functionality.

Recycled PET Bottles in Furniture Film Production

LX Hausys has also been supplying furniture films manufactured using recycled PET bottles to international markets, including Europe and North America, since developing the material in 2018.

One notable application took place in 2025 at a large-scale apartment complex in Busan, South Korea. The project is expected to have the equivalent impact of recycling approximately 1.2 million discarded PET bottles.

The company has also introduced changes to its release paper materials to improve recyclability.

In June 2025, LX Z Interior Film Flame-retardant received Korea Eco-Label Certification following a change in its release paper from a polyethylene coating to a clay-based material. The modification enables the release paper to be recycled after use.

CEO Highlights Long-Term ESG Commitment

Commenting on the company’s sustainability direction, Roh JinSeo, CEO of LX Hausys, said in the report:

“Creating social value, building a sustainable ecosystem for shared growth, and driving innovation toward decarbonization are ongoing ESG activities that will continue to serve as the core values of LX Hausys’ management. We will realize responsible growth in line with the global movement toward sustainability.”
