A MAJOR CUTTING-EDGE TEXTILE TECHNOLOGY SHOWCASE

ITMA ASIA + CITME, the premier textile machinery business platform in Asia, starts in Shanghai with a showcase of innovative textile and apparel technology. The five-day joint expo showcases an intriguing range of solutions that will support Asia’s textile industry’s transition to cutting-edge and environmentally friendly production.

ITMA ASIA + CITME 2024, which takes place at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre Shanghai from October 14–18, occupies six halls totaling 160,000 square meters. It brings together over 1,700 of the top producers of textile machines from 22 different nations and areas to showcase their most recent technical innovations.

The Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT (CCPIT TEX), China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA), and China expo Centre Group Corporation (CIEC) are the Chinese partners of CEMATEX, who jointly own the expo.

“It is encouraging to note that the combined exhibition in Shanghai has continued to grow in size,” stated Mr. Alex Zucchi, President of CEMATEX. Known as the biggest textile machinery exposition in Asia, its display space has increased by 9% as compared to the 2022 edition. In addition to a broad range of digital and automation technologies, the show will showcase an intriguing selection of eco-friendly solutions that will support the development of a more sustainable textile sector.

“The exhibition is a much-awaited technological showcase as China’s textile industry is in a critical period of transition to a more advanced form,” said Mr. Gu Ping, president of the China Textile Machinery Association (CTMA). The present “new quality productivity” push in our nation, which focuses heavily on high-end manufacturing, the development of intelligent technology, and sustainable practices, will be supported by this year’s show.

superior technology display

The displays cover the whole value chain of textile and garment production and are organized into product sectors, which include nonwovens, garment manufacture, recycling, testing, and spinning, weaving, knitting, printing, dyeing, and finishing. The newest technology that lessen the industry’s carbon impact, automated manufacturing lines, and digital solutions for increased efficiency are some of the highlights.

17 product sectors are represented in the displays at ITMA ASIA + CITME 2024. When it comes to product categories, the dyeing and finishing industry takes up the most space—22 percent of the overall display space that exhibitors have reserved. Spinning and the manufacture of man-made fibers (19%), knitting (16%), weaving (14%) and the printing and inks (10%) industries come next.

Reputable textile machinery manufacturers are offering these technology and solutions. When compared to the 2022 edition, there are around 12% more exhibitors this time around. Mainland Chinese exhibitors occupy the majority of the area, placing them at the top of the list. Exhibitors from Taiwan, China, Belgium, Japan, Italy, and Germany follow them.

The joint show is a well-curated, high-caliber display; only textile machinery manufacturers and intellectual property (IP) rights holders are eligible to participate. During the show, an on-site intellectual property office will be manned by legal and technical specialists to oversee and manage any problems pertaining to intellectual property.

To attract buyers, the joint show has received substantial local and international advertising. Roadshows were held overseas at a few of Asia’s major textile production centers. Simultaneously, a comprehensive direct marketing campaign and partnerships with trade media outlets were initiated.

The joint show will close on October 18, 2024. The show is open from 0900 to 1700 hours, with the exception of October 18, when it ends at 1600 hours. In-person badge sales are available to visitors for 50 yuan for one-day badges and 100 yuan for five-day cards.

Beijing Textile Machinery International Exhibition Co Ltd is the organizer of ITMA ASIA + CITME 2024, with ITMA Services serving as a co-organizer. The exhibition has the Japan Textile Machinery Association (JTMA) as a special partner.
