March 7, 2025, New Delhi The graduation ceremony for Project Sakhi, a project launched in collaboration with BluSmart, the biggest all-electric ride-hailing service in South Asia, and EV was successfully held by the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC).

Nearly 50 women from disadvantaged backgrounds who have now been placed with BluSmart around Delhi-NCR received certificates from ASDC today as part of this program, while another 50 women are continuing their three-month training. This program consists of thorough driver education to give women the abilities and information needed for safe and effective driving. Additionally, BluSmart offers these driving partners information sessions about the special qualities and advantages of EVs. As a result, the driver partners gain not only the fundamental driving abilities but also a more comprehensive grasp of the environment in which they operate. In a historically male-dominated field, they are working together to dismantle barriers and open the door for a more fair and diverse workforce in the mobility sector.
In addition to encouraging financial independence, Project “Sakhi,” which is funded by the SIDBI Swavalamban Foundation (SSF), advances the more general objective of gender inclusiveness in the mobility industry. During his speech, ASDC Vice-President Mr. Vinkesh Gulati highlighted how skill development can change people’s life.
