About the Jute Mark India Scheme
The Jute Mark India Scheme was launched on 9th July 2022 by the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, to promote and recognize jute products in domestic and international markets. The JMI logo, along with a traceable QR code provided to registered users, facilitates market linkages for artisans and manufacturers. The Textiles Committee is the nodal body responsible for implementing the scheme in India.
Key Objectives of the Workshop
The workshop was designed to educate artisans, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), jute diversified product manufacturers, responsible citizens, and other stakeholders about the JMI scheme. It also aimed to safeguard the interests of grassroots stakeholders in the jute industry. Given the growing significance of jute as an eco-friendly and sustainable fiber, the workshop reinforced the recognition and marketability of jute products in both domestic and international markets.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. K.S. Muralidhara, Joint Director, Textiles Committee, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India.
