India is looking towards a future that is wealthy, egalitarian, and sustainable for all of us: Margherita Shri Pabitra

Yesterday, at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi, the Ministry of Textiles had an interactive session with foreign missions in India for Bharat Tex 2025. Australia, Azerbaijan, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, Indonesia, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Lesotho, Montenegro, Malaysia, Mongolia, Mexico, Peru, Philippines, Republic of Korea, Russia, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Taiwan, Togo, Thailand, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam were among the more than 30 foreign missions in India that attended the event.
As the Chief Guest, Shri Pabitra Margherita, the Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Textiles, honoured the occasion. In addition, industry executives and officials attended the meeting, including Ms. Rachna Shah, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles; Shri P. Kumaran, Special Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs; Shri Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles; Ms. Shubhra, Trade Advisor, Ministry of Textiles; and others.
Speaking at the event, the Minister encouraged ambassadors and officials from other nations to get involved in Bharat Tex 2025. Bharat Tex is a unique attempt to integrate the whole textile value chain under one roof, he said, calling it the biggest and most comprehensive textiles exhibition ever. He emphasised the Indian textile industry’s culture of entrepreneurship in coming up with creative answers to the problems the global textile sector presents. Bharat Tex, he emphasised, will confirm India’s appeal as a dependable, sustainable sourcing destination and a large-scale textile investment destination. The industry has the capacity to significantly impact people’s lives in all social domains and create jobs along the value chain. This event is an expression of the Prime Minister’s 5F vision—Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign—with creativity, teamwork, and the ethos of Made in India at its heart, he said.

Additionally, Ms. Rachna Shah emphasised Bharat Tex’s contribution to the global textile industry. She extended an invitation to the delegates to join the mega textile global event as a Partner Country. She also underlined India’s attention on the textile industry, which is supported by robust legislation and a number of incentives and programs, such as PM-MITRA Parks and PLI.
With assistance from the Ministry of Textiles, a group of Textile Export Promotion Councils (EPCs) are organising the massive international textile show known as Bharat Tex. BHARAT TEX 2025 is a worldwide textile trade show and information platform that is scheduled to take place from February 14–17, 2025. Two cutting-edge locations—India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida and Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi—will host the event concurrently. While the main event will be held from February 14-17 at the Bharat Mandapam and will cover the entire value chain of textiles, exhibitions pertaining to handicrafts, garment machinery and ethnic apparel will be held from February 12 to 15 at the India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida.
The goal of Bharat Tex 2025 is to expand on the inaugural edition’s tremendous success in 2024. This year’s event is expected to be even more lively and appealing than the previous edition, drawing top politicians, multinational CEOs, international exhibitors, and foreign purchasers with its dual themes of sustainability and resilient global value chains. Over 5,000 exhibitors, 6,000 foreign buyers from more than 110 countries, and more than 20,000 attendees are anticipated to attend this year’s event, setting a new record.
Apparel, home furnishings, floor coverings, fibres, yarns, threads, fabrics, carpets, silk, handlooms, handicrafts, technical textiles, apparel machinery, dyes and chemicals, and many more areas will have their own pavilions at the Bharat Tex 2025 show. Additionally, it will have a retail High Street that focusses on the fashion retail business prospects in India.
The textile mega event will also serve as a forum for international textile discussions on a range of important subjects, including Industry 4.0, Sustainability, Global Value Chain, Investment, and Trade, among others. It will include conferences, seminars, CEO roundtables, and B2B and G2G meetings.
Live demonstrations, cultural activities, fashion displays, brand and designer exhibitions, sustainability seminars, and expert discussions are all anticipated by attendees. With an emphasis on India’s capabilities in fashion, traditional crafts, and environmental efforts, Bharat Tex 2025 seeks to provide a distinctive and cohesive platform for showcasing the country’s whole textile value chain.
