VDMA Members Leading the Way in Automation and Digital Transformation at Techtextil
Techtextil, the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens, is set to take place at the end of April in Frankfurt, Germany. This year, the event will see a strong participation of VDMA member companies, showcasing their innovative solutions and cutting-edge technologies for the textile industry. Over 50 members will be presenting smart technologies for technical textiles in various application areas, with seven of them at the VDMA group stand.
Focus on Automation and Digitalisation
One of the key focuses of the VDMA member companies at Techtextil will be on automation and digitalisation. These technologies are essential in driving the transformation of the textile industry, offering highly efficient and resource-saving production processes. By providing innovative machines and equipment for recycling, VDMA member companies are leading the way in sustainable textile manufacturing.
Enhancing Efficiency and Quality
Digitalisation plays a crucial role in improving the efficiency and quality of textile production processes. With the help of automation and digital tools, textile producers can optimise their operations, achieve a high level of process reliability, and enhance transparency in their production processes. By embracing digital solutions, textile manufacturers can also address the challenge of the increasing shortage of qualified personnel in the industry.
Collaboration for Success
For digitalisation to be successful, close cooperation between machinery builders and textile producers is essential. VDMA has been at the forefront of promoting collaboration in the industry and will be organising a panel discussion at the VDMA group stand during Techtextil. The event will focus on the impact of the digital product passport on textile machinery manufacturing and the apparel industry, bringing together industry experts to discuss the regulatory process and its implications.
Award Ceremony for Young Engineers
In addition to showcasing innovative technologies, the VDMA group stand at Techtextil will also be a platform for recognising and promoting young talent in the industry. The Chairman of VDMA’s Young Talent Foundation, Peter D. Dornier, will award six young engineers with the Foundation’s promotion and sustainability prizes. The prizes will be awarded in the categories of bachelor’s thesis and diploma/master’s degree, highlighting the importance of nurturing young talent in the textile sector.
