Candidates who want to participate in the ICAC’s 10-day 2024 Research Associate Program (RAP), which is scheduled to begin in September, must fill out and submit their applications by 21 December 2023.
For the 2024 edition, the Secretariat developed a brand-new curriculum that encompasses all the areas of expertise of the ICAC, from production, market, trade, economics, and textiles. The first week of the program will be conducted at the offices of the Secretariat in Washington, DC.
Presentations will be made on topics including production practices, market, trade, economics, and textiles, using new training technologies developed by the ICAC. Participants will be briefed by members of the Secretariat and by experts from US research institutions and the US Department of Agriculture. The program also includes a visit to a cotton producing area in the United States for two or three days.
Participation in the program is open to persons from ICAC Member countries, including persons from government agencies, universities, and the private sector. Candidates from non-Member countries are invited to participate on a paid tuition basis. The tuition for the program is US$5,000 per participant.
Candidates from ICAC Member countries will be responsible for the cost of international travel to and from Washington, DC. The ICAC will bear the cost of travel within the USA, including transportation and lodging. Non-tuition participants from Member countries will be provided with a per diem amount of US$50/day for food and miscellaneous expenses, not to exceed US$500/person.
For new applicants, the ICAC Secretariat has developed an online form, which can be accessed here.
