
Mumbai, March 1 – The Global Textile Technology and Engineering Show (GTTES 2025), organized by the India International Textile Machinery Exhibitions Society (India ITME Society), continued with enthusiasm on its second day at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon (East), Mumbai. The three-day event, held from February 21 to 23, has been a landmark for India’s textile industry, showcasing technological advancements and fostering global cooperation.
Chhattisgarh Investment Summit Highlights Growth Opportunities
The day began with the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd Investment Summit in the B2B Pavilion, focusing on attracting investments and exploring business opportunities in the textile sector. The summit showcased Chhattisgarh’s potential as a key player in the industry, with multiple meetings between domestic and international delegates enhancing networking and collaboration.
Mr. Ketan Sanghvi, Chairman of the steering committee of India ITME, highlighted the significance of the event in aligning business visions with Chhattisgarh’s new Industrial Development Policy 2024-2030, fostering growth and innovation in the textile machinery sector.
Mr. Praveen Shukla, Additional Director of the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation Limited, emphasized the state’s growing role in the textile industry, with exports totaling $35.9 billion over 24 years. He noted that Chhattisgarh’s power surplus and upcoming textile park in Jangir Champa position it as a future textile hub. The state’s thriving ecosystem includes over 25,000 MSMEs and 1,400 DPIT-registered startups.
Strategic MOUs Foster Innovation
The B2B Pavilion witnessed the signing of several Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with industry leaders such as the Asian Arab Chamber of Commerce. These collaborations aim to drive innovation and growth in the textile sector. Mr. Murtuza Shabbir Arsiwala, Honourary Trade Commissioner, highlighted the importance of these partnerships in enhancing bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
Sustainable Fashion Takes Center Stage
The event also addressed sustainability challenges in the textile industry through a session titled “Threads of Transformation”, jointly organized by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, Textile Committee, HSNC, C4C SBI Foundation, and TISSER. This session focused on post-consumer textile recycling and sustainable practices, supporting over 200 artisan cultures across 25+ states in India.
The day concluded with a Recycled, Upcycled & Sustainable Fashion Art & Fashion Show, showcasing innovative solutions to textile waste and promoting sustainability in fashion. The show was a tribute to the artistry and cultural fusion within the textile industry.
