Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) to Co-host the 81st Plenary meeting of the of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) in Mumbai

The Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, as co-host of the 81st Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), which will be held in Mumbai from December 2 to 5, 2023.

The Office of Textile Commissioner will host the 81st Plenary Meeting of the International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC) at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre in collaboration with the Cotton Corporation of India Limited (CCI), the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), and the Cotton Association of India (CAI). India is honored and proud to host this event after nearly eight years.

Honorable Shri Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Textiles, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Commerce and Industry, will open the meeting, which is a watershed moment for the textile industry. His attendance demonstrates the government’s commitment to international collaboration and cotton sector growth.

Over 400 participants from 35 countries are expected to attend the 81st ICAC Plenary Meeting, which will bring together important stakeholders, industry experts, and policymakers to discuss and address global cotton market challenges and opportunities. This is the fifth time the ICAC Plenary Meeting has been convened in India in the last six decades.

The event will include workshops on a variety of themes, such as market trends, technological breakthroughs, and sustainable practices, providing participants with a complete overview of the cotton industry’s current situation and future possibilities.

The ICAC is a global forum that brings together cotton-producing and cotton-consuming countries, international organizations, and the corporate sector to discuss and resolve issues affecting the global cotton industry.
