New Delhi :- At SEMICON India, a premier event put on by SEMIIndia, Dr. Abhilasha Gaur, CEO of the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI), recently gave a thorough talk on “Building a Sustainable Workforce.” The event gathered participants from the microelectronics and semiconductor industry. to talk about the skills necessary for the sector’s growth and the future of workforce development.
In his talk, Dr. Gaur traced the development of India’s skilling ecosystem from conventional industrial training programs to contemporary skilling efforts that are in line with industry trends. She noted how ESSCI is driving this shift by standardizing training initiatives to satisfy the needs of the global business, guaranteeing India’s manpower maintains its competitiveness in the electronics and semiconductor sectors.
India’s aspiration to become a global manufacturing powerhouse hinges on the development of a highly trained labor force that can adjust to the changing demands of the electronics and semiconductor industries. ESSCI is committed to achieving this objective by emphasizing sustainable skill development and initiatives consistent with industry standards,” stated ESSCI CEO Dr. Abhilasha Gaur.
Dr. Gaur went on to emphasize other important ESSCI programs, such as clean room operations, product design, and vocational education and specialized training in semiconductor process technologies. These initiatives seek to develop technical proficiency while encouraging cross- functional abilities including computer literacy, leadership, and ongoing education. By being in line with 01taking into account the National Occupational Standards (NOS) and emphasizing both hard and soft abilities, India’s labor force is being prepared for the changing demands of the industry by ESSCI.
In addition, Dr. Gaur stressed the need of working with academic institutions and forming public-private partnerships as essential components of expanding skill-building programs. She highlighted ESSCI’s collaborations with more than 4,500 training facilities and 3,000 business partners. its certification of more than 8,000 trainers, who serve as the foundation for the country’s skill development endeavors.
The SEMIIndia-hosted SEMICON India provides a crucial forum for talking about workforce preparedness in the semiconductor and electronics manufacturing industries. SEMIIndia is committed to expanding India’s contribution to the world’s semiconductor industry by tackling issues related to technology and human resources.
ESSCI is dedicated to making sure that there is a strong and long-lasting talent pipeline as India’s electronics and semiconductor industries continue to grow. Through the NAPS initiative’s network of 140,000 apprentices and more than 250 training partners, as well as ongoing alignment With the help of National Occupational Standards, ESSCI is significantly advancing India’s workforce toward increased competence in the production of semiconductors and associated fields.
