The launch of Cordura re/cor RN66, which is composed entirely of pre-consumer fibres and is 100% GRS (Global Recycled Standard) certified, has been announced by Invista’s Cordura brand.
The new recycled nylon 6.6 collection is said to be strong and long-lasting in fabric constructions. In comparison to virgin nylon 6.6, its production reduces greenhouse gas emissions by 83%, uses 82% less energy, and uses 57% less water. It is currently offered in 36 on-trend colours for Autumn/Winter 2023.
According to Cordura vice-president Anthony Green, “one of the main goals behind Cordura re/cor was to continue to deliver the performance expected of Cordura advanced fabrics, while expanding our portfolio of responsible products.” “We have been working hard to deliver it because our customers and partners have been asking for it.”
“Many of our customers are already familiar with our GRS certified post-consumer recycled polyester and pre-consumer RN6 fabric technologies, both of which are being folded into our Cordura re/cor line,” added Cordura business development director Cindy McNaull.
“Additionally, we are also incredibly proud of our solution-dyed nylon fabric, Cordura Truelock.
Cordura TrueLock fabrics are created from Invista nylon 6.6 multi-filament fibres incorporating locked-in colour at the molten polymer extrusion level which offers significant stewardship benefits such as reduced water and energy consumption as well as less CO2 emissions in the manufacturing process.
