Envalior has announced the launch of a new third-party-operated 225,000-square-foot distribution center in Evansville, Indiana. The new distribution facility, which is connected to Envalior’s Evansville production site via a bridge, will increase Envalior’s Evansville operations’ capacity and flexibility. It will meet the expanding demand for Envalior’s high-performance and sustainable engineering materials in a variety of industries, including automotive, medical, and consumer goods.
Envalior’s new distribution center in Evansville, Indiana, strengthens the company’s commitment to customers, according to Maggie Cai, vice president of supply chain management performance materials and specialty materials.
“We very much look forward to the collaboration with our third party warehouse provider to provide efficient and effective logistics solutions to customers while internally elevating inventory management capability.”
To ensure efficient and precise order processing, the distribution centre uses cutting-edge technology such as automated material handling equipment and advanced inventory management software. The engagement of Envalior supply chain and quality team members on-site will reduce supply chain risks by promoting and strengthening operational, inventory, and delivery request transparency. This team integration is critical to improving customer service by boosting visibility of end-to-end assistance.
“Envalior’s regional commercial director for the Americas, Grace Showalter, expressed excitement for the new distribution center in Evansville.” “We are dedicated to working closely with our customers, and this centre will help us reach optimal standards for delivery.”
Project discussions for the new onsite distribution center began in late 2019 and lasted until the COVID-19 epidemic in 2020.
The project was pushed back until 2022 due to rising inflation and supply chain issues that arose during this difficult time. According to the company’s news release, executive committee oversight and financial approval were completed in December 2022, and the new warehouse contract was signed with a third-party warehouse provider in February 2023.
“This project is the culmination of years of diligent planning and hard work by several talented colleagues within Envalior,” said Rick Messinger, Envalior’s head of supply chain management. “I could not be more excited to see how the Evansville distribution centre will better serve our valued customers for many years to come.”
