The three-end BCF system BCF S+ is extremely flexible: even in the design optimized for polyester yarn a, the system produces excellent polyamide 6 yarn.
Neumünster With the commissioning of an Oerlikon Neumag BCF system of the BCF S+ type, Zhejiang Sitong New Material Technology Co., Ltd., a Chinese carpet yarn maker, is increasing its polyester capacity. By doing this, the business will be able to guarantee a balanced output of yarns made of polyester, polyamide, and polypropylene.
In the Chinese market, Oerlikon Neumag’s BCF systems are becoming more popular.
Sitong is one of Asia’s biggest producers of BCF yarn, with an annual capacity of 50,000 tonnes. The Hangzhou-based firm is reacting to the move towards polyester carpet yarns by adding four more BCF S+ spots for polyester yarn. They will be used in the future by Sitong to create balanced BCF yarns from polyester, polyamide 6, and polypropylene. According to Tang Liang, president and owner of Sitong, “we are more resilient in the face of trends and market fluctuations because of our broad portfolio strategy.” The positive experiences served as the foundation for the Neumag choice. Since our establishment in 2002, we have depended on European technology; we solely take into account Oerlikon Neumag plants for the manufacturing of polyester. We have made the proper investment choices since we have established ourselves in both the domestic and foreign markets with our high-quality products.
BCF S+ is adaptable.
Although the new BCF S+ Monocolor factory was built to make polyester yarn, during the commissioning phase, it also generated great results when producing polyamide 6 yarn. Sitong has a considerable competitive edge due to its capacity to swiftly transition to the economical manufacture of premium PA6 yarn. “Trends are getting shorter and shorter. But purchasing a plant is a long-term choice. Therefore, it’s a compelling case if I can spin several polymers using the same technique without compromising the final product’s quality,” Tang Liang concludes.
The Asian carpet market is becoming more significant.
The carpet market in Asia is presently expanding noticeably. Although the US and Turkey have up to now been the main locations for carpet yarn manufacturing, the post-corona years have seen a significant increase in the production of BCF yarn, particularly in China. One factor contributing to this is the growth of the Chinese automobile industry, while another is the rebound in travel. “A lot of hotels are undergoing renovations and new construction right now. According to Sun Peng, Sales Director of Oerlikon Neumag in China, “there is a significant backlog demand now, despite the fact that many hotels were closed during the pandemic.”
