The Indian Technical Textiles Association and the Intexcon Conference sponsored the prize, which went to Seshadri Ramkumar of Texas Tech University’s Nonwovens Laboratory and Jayalakshmi Textiles.
Rajeev Saxena, Jt. Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, gave the award to Ramkumar and Arunkrishna.
The partnership demonstrated the value-added uses of cotton, highlighting its benefits in certain technological textile applications.
The award was accepted on behalf of Jayalakshmi Textiles by Mr. Arunkrishna Srinivasan, Director.
The second day of the event will feature a talk by Ramkumar on “Cotton and Advanced Textiles,” which is part of the award function. About 230 persons attended the award ceremony at the JB Auditorium, AMA in Ahmedabad, India.
