Frick, Switzerland – February 28, 2025 – Jakob Müller Group (JMG), a global leader in narrow fabric machinery, has launched its JMG 2030 strategy to strengthen its market leadership and better align with customer needs. The strategy includes simplified corporate structures, an expanded product portfolio, a new acquisition, and targeted customer initiatives, all aimed at ensuring sustainable growth for the Swiss company.
As the global textile machinery industry evolves, JMG has outlined a series of measures to secure its position and drive long-term growth. The company is investing in customer-focused innovations, modernizing its product offerings, and optimizing internal processes. This includes new customer collaboration platforms, an expanded volume segment product line, and streamlined corporate structures.
Focusing on Core Competencies and Operational Excellence
JMG’s strategic plan emphasizes its core segments: Weaving, Label Production Systems, Warp Crochet Knitting, and Dyeing and Finishing. The company will discontinue its Winding & Making-up and Warping Systems segments at its Schwelm, Germany site, transferring essential technologies to other areas. Additionally, the Finishing segment will move from Kadan, Czech Republic, to Benninger in Pune, India, resulting in phased reductions in production at these locations.
Stephan Bühler, Owner of JMG, stated, “These decisions, though difficult, are crucial for our future growth. We must focus our resources where growth potential is greatest.” CEO Andreas Conzelmann added, “Focusing on our core segments enhances our innovation and competitiveness, ensuring we continue to offer the best solutions to our customers.”
Unified Brand Identity and Global Market Position
COMEZ, an Italian manufacturer of crochet and warp knitting machines, will be fully integrated and rebranded as Jakob Müller Italy. Additionally, JMG has acquired MEI International, an Italian manufacturer of label weaving machines, to expand its product range with innovative air-jet technology.
Enhancing Customer Experience Sustainably
Central to the JMG 2030 strategy is improving customer experience through faster turnaround times and advanced solutions. The new Customer Center and LAB1887, an innovation hub in Frick, Switzerland, will open in late summer 2025, allowing customers to collaborate on new technologies and applications for narrow fabrics.
Andreas Conzelmann commented, “Our strategy reflects our commitment to sustainable growth and maintaining leadership in the narrow fabric industry. These changes will make us more agile and customer-focused.”
