Norway’s Trondheim, Mark Howard was appointed to the board of directors of Alva Industries (Alva), a company that manufactures frameless motors and owns and develops FiberPrintingTM technology. The announcement was made today.
In addition to being the co-founder and previous CEO of Zettlex, Mark Howard has over thirty years of expertise in the motion control and robotics sectors. Alva will gain a great deal from Mark’s extensive industry experience as it expands into precision motion applications.
“Electric motors have seen a lot of small improvements in recent years, but I can’t think of an invention that offers such a radical shift as Alva’s FiberPrintingTM technology,” Mark Howard remarked. “I was happy to accept Alva’s invitation to join because I was so impressed by the technology’s ability to boost torque & performance while maintaining such a thin and light footprint.”
This appointment comes after SlimTorqTM, a new line of slotless thin-section motors from Alva, was recently introduced. These motors are perfect for high-precision and thrust applications on land, at sea, in the air and in space. The company’s innovative FiberPrintingTM technique, which allows ironless and slotless motor windings with up to 60% copper fill factor, is used to build SlimTorqTM motors, setting new standards for accuracy, torque density, and versatility.
“As Alva enters its next phase of expansion, we are thrilled to have Mark join our Board,” stated Jørgen Selnes, Alva’s CEO and co-founder. “Mark offers a wealth of experience and expertise in important markets and technologies, and we are eager to collaborate with him to propel Alva’s future success.”
Alva will demonstrate its SlimTorq™ series at the SPS Tradeshow in Nuremberg on 12-14 November. If you are attending, please get in touch with the team to arrange a live demo.
