At the upcoming IGATEX textile machinery exhibition in Karachi, Pakistan, from April 24-26, Monforts will showcase the advantages of its latest Universal Energy Tower.
This standalone air/air heat exchanger module allows for the recovery of heat from the exhaust air flow of thermal systems such as existing stenters and THERMEX dyeing ranges with infrared predriers, leading to energy savings of up to 25%, depending on the exhaust air volume and operating temperature.

The Energy Tower includes an integrated fresh air fan with speed control, easy access to heat exchanger modules for cleaning, and a large condensate collection tank with a lint filter. It also features real-time temperature visualization and maintenance interval notifications.
As part of a series of modular upgrades developed by Monforts, the Universal Energy Tower can be added to existing finishing lines in production, significantly reducing operational costs.
Innovative Modular Upgrades
“Monforts machines are recognized for their durability and long service life, but retrofitting specific modules with new control and drive technology—going beyond simple spare part replacement—can greatly enhance the performance of an existing line,” says Monforts Area Sales Manager, Manfred Havenith. “This is particularly true in terms of achieving additional energy savings. At this year’s IGATEX, we look forward to exploring these opportunities with our customers. Compared to investing in a new machine, these upgrades offer a cost-effective solution with clearly defined benefits.”
The Matex Eco Applicator, on the other hand, presents an energy-efficient alternative to the traditional padding process, helping to achieve substantial energy savings during the drying of treated fabrics. It ensures the precise application of finishing chemicals while maintaining a lower residual moisture level of approximately 35%, reducing the drying capacity required in the stenter and leading to major energy savings.
Finishing chemicals can be applied evenly on one or both sides of the fabric, allowing for dual treatments on the front and back. This makes the unit ideal for producing specialized fabrics, such as double-performance hydrophobic/hydrophilic textiles for professional clothing, as well as for overdyeing and finishing denim fabrics.
Additional Retrofitting Solutions
“Other modular upgrade options in our retrofitting programme include a clip opener for the MONTEX stenter, positioned at the chain deflection points to minimize wear on the clip table and blades,” explains Havenith. “Additionally, it ensures a quieter working environment due to the smooth opening and closing of the clips.
“There are also significant benefits in modernizing a machine’s Human-Machine Interface (HMI) with our new 19-inch compact OS Windows PCs. Moreover, a range of frequency converter options can enhance a machine’s efficiency and reduce downtimes. With over 140 years of experience, Monforts is a trusted partner for retrofitting solutions that promote sustainability and energy savings.”
Strong Market Presence in Pakistan
Monforts continues to receive substantial repeat orders from Pakistan’s leading vertically integrated textile manufacturers as they expand and diversify into new markets. Customers across key industrial hubs, including Karachi, Lahore, and Faisalabad, depend on Monforts’ advanced technologies, such as MONTEX stentering equipment, Monfortex sanforizing units, and THERMEX dyeing ranges.
“As these companies explore new market opportunities in today’s highly competitive textile industry, we support them with trials and optimized processing parameters, helping them develop cutting-edge fabrics for various applications—both at their own plants and at our Advanced Technology Centre (ATC) in Germany,” adds Havenith.
Monforts specialists will be available for consultation at the stand of our partner Al-Ameen at IGATEX 2025, Booth A13-A30 in Hall 5.
