Monforts Montex & Baldwin TexCoat™ G4 Now Available for Trials

February 18, 2025 – GREEN BAY, Wis. – Monforts has successfully integrated the Baldwin TexCoat™ G4 digital spray unit from BW Converting into its Advanced Technology Center (ATC) in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Installed on one of the full-size Montex stenter lines, this advanced system is now available for customer trials, utilizing the latest sustainable finishing chemistries from Archroma.

The TexCoat™ G4 technology enables precise application of water-based chemicals such as softeners, antimicrobials, durable water repellents, and flame retardants onto textile surfaces. Combined with Montex stenters, this system can reduce water, chemical, and energy consumption by up to 50% compared to conventional pad application methods.

Enhancing Sustainability and Performance

Monforts is committed to supporting textile manufacturers in developing higher-quality finished products while optimizing resource efficiency.

“Our ATC features two full Montex stenter finishing lines, along with a Thermex range for continuous dyeing, a full-color kitchen, and lab-scale systems for small-batch trials,” said Hans Wroblowski, Head of Denim at Monforts. “This allows customers to test textiles and technical fabrics under real production conditions, ensuring full confidentiality while refining fabric finishes.”

“The addition of TexCoat™ G4 further expands our capabilities, and we’re excited to collaborate with Archroma and Baldwin to drive sustainable innovations in textile finishing.”

A Game-Changer for the Industry

The partnership between Monforts, Baldwin, and Archroma is already generating strong interest.

“We have multiple textile manufacturers eager to conduct production trials at the ATC,” said Rick Stanford, VP of Global Business Development, Textiles, BW Converting. “This collaboration allows us to accelerate sustainable advancements, leading to significant reductions in energy, chemical, and water use, while enhancing productivity and quality.”

“With this extended collaboration, we’re taking chemical functionalization and coloration to the next level,” added Michael Schuhmann, Global Market Segment Manager, Technical Textiles, Archroma Textile Effects. “Now, we can demonstrate real-world efficiency and sustainability benefits under industrial conditions, giving textile mills clear performance insights without disrupting their operations.”
