The American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame is gearing up to unveil an exciting new exhibit titled “Textiles Reimagined: Brave New World of Digital Printing” on April 12. This innovative showcase will delve into the fast-evolving realm of digital fabric printing, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the intricate world of digital textile printing.
Featuring a range of engaging exhibits, the display will include tactile experiences such as woven and print boxes, pattern play cubes, and a chance to take selfies against a backdrop of projected textile patterns. Moreover, upholstered chairs adorned with printed fabric designs inspired by vintage textiles will add a touch of nostalgia to the showcase.
Drawing inspiration from the rich history of Springs Mills, a renowned bedding and bath textile manufacturer established in 1886, the exhibit will present a fusion of traditional textiles with cutting-edge digital printing technology. Spearheaded by design director Ashlyn Beck of Springs Creative, the showcase aims to bridge the gap between the past and the future through the lens of textile design.
Scheduled to coincide with the April 13-17 High Point Market, the exhibit will initially be open to industry professionals before welcoming the public. Beck emphasised the transformative power of the exhibit, stating, “We have based the exhibit on historic fabrics from our Baxter Mill Archive to show how the past can inspire the future in new creative ways.”
Located at 311 S. Hamilton St. in High Point, the American Home Furnishings Hall of Fame will serve as the perfect backdrop for this immersive and enlightening exploration into the world of digital fabric printing.
