Today, Invest UP in joint collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and RSAC-UP, organised a workshop on PM Gati Shakti NMP in a knowledge-packed session that delivered technical inputs to enrich nodal officers and stakeholders of the UP government at the RSAC campus.
Invest UP CEO and Secretary Infrastructure Infrastructure & Industrial Development Department, Abhishek Prakash, Deputy Director General DPIIT, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Vinod Kumar Verma, Deputy Director General Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, D.K. Ojha and Director RSAC-UP Dr. P. Kunwar were among the few who graced the occasion and addressed the officers from different departments across the state.
Senior scientist-SF Sushil Chandra of RSAC started the session with a welcome address and made a presentation on the Introduction and Layer Integration of PM Gati Shakti NMP. His presentation not only provided a comprehensive overview but also laid the foundation for a day of in-depth exploration.
The workshop further gained momentum with a presentation by Invest UP, spearheaded by Shri Abhishek Prakash (IAS), Secretary IIDD, and Chief Executive Officer at Invest-UP. The session highlighted the progress and key expectations from the department, underscoring the collaborative efforts required for the successful execution of PM Gati Shakti NMP. CEO of Invest UP, Abhishek Prakash said that now the stage has come to take the advantages of this portal to the next level. He said, Today’s workshop is very important as time has come to utilise the planning and hard work done in previous years for proper planning, reducing the time of inter-departmental coordination and physical verification. He further detailed the PM Gati Shakti presentation of UP, including the progress UP has made till date, the status of the progress of layer integration and key expectations from the department like how to utilise the tool for better planning and better execution of the projects. While explaining the progress of UP he stated that 24 mandatory layers have been integrated and authenticated, and 55 additional layers have been integrated on the portal.
Dr. P. Kunwar, Director of RSAC-UP, then took the stage to shed light on the significance of RSAC-UP in the broader context, emphasizing its role in contributing to the success of initiatives like PM Gati Shakti NMP. This session helped participants understand the critical role of remote sensing applications in the effective implementation of national projects. He further said the centre, which was started in 1982, is now excelling in all directions and equipping departments with technical, geo-special technologies and assistance to different departments.
Shri Vinod Kumar Verma, Deputy Director General at the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, followed with an insightful discourse on PM Gati Shakti NMP. He added that the PM Gati Shakti NMP is a more than two-year-old project now, launched by Hon’ble PM Narendra Modi. All departments, whether infrastructure or any other, need planning, so we have a vision that all future planning of government departments should be done through PM Gati Shakti, which is a GIS based portal.
Shri D.K. Ojha, Deputy Director General, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas graced the event with profound insights into PM Gati Shakti NMP during the latter part of the morning session. His presentation delved into the strategic aspects of the plan, offering a nuanced perspective on its potential impact on the energy sector.
The post-lunch session witnessed a live demonstration of project planning by D.K. Ojha using PM Gati Shakti NMP. The interactive session allowed participants to witness first-hand the practical application of the master plan, fostering a deeper understanding of its implementation.
As the day drew to a close, Dr. M. S. Yadav, Scientist-SE at RSAC-UP, extended a vote of thanks to all the participants, speakers and organizers who contributed to the success of the workshop. His expression of gratitude encapsulated the collaborative spirit of the event, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in realizing the goals of PM Gati Shakti NMP.
