The powersports division of Gustav Magenwirth GmbH & Co. KG, also known as MAGURA, a German firm founded in 1893 with its headquarters in Bad Urach, gave rise to Powersports MTG GmbH (“Powersports”) as a spin-off.
Powersports had a healthy 30 million euros in sales by the end of 2024. Advanced clutch and brake systems for both off-road and on-road use, including luxury and racing bikes, are brought about by Powersports’ purchase. Lineup includes motorcycle master cylinder and caliper along with slanted radial, fully radial and axial master cylinder in addition to floating caliper and fixed caliper. These innovations improve brake feel and control in a variety of driving situations while lowering friction.
The ADVIK group’s managing director, Mr. Aditya Bhartia, expressed enthusiasm for the purchase and emphasised how it will help create a dependable and safe advanced braking system. In addition to bringing cutting-edge hydraulic braking and clutch system technology to a wider region of the world, Mr. Bhartia stated that the acquisition of MAGURA’s two-wheeler braking system, which has a rich history spanning more than a century, also expands Germany’s manufacturing and research and development capabilities.
With more than 60 patents, ADVIK is strategically gaining access to hydraulic clutch and braking technologies through this acquisition. Leading two-wheeler OEMs in the USA and Europe are among Powersports’ clients for clutch and brake systems. This would assist ADVIK in establishing a presence in Europe, from which it could grow and provide doorstep customer care. This advances our goal of being the world’s top provider of brake systems for two-wheelers (motorcycles and scooters). He went on to say, “ADVIK would strategically expand the two-wheeler braking system portfolio worldwide, carrying on the legacy of more than 100 years.”
The Managing Partner of MAGENWIRTH Technologies GmbH, Mr. Fabian Auch, expressed his happiness at ADVIK’s acquisition of the Powersports company. “I am thrilled to turn this business over to ADVIK, a group that has the ability to further expand the two-wheeler braking systems business,” Mr. Auch said. The Powersports company has undoubtedly found its rightful home, where it will prosper and expand.
