SAATI Germany, a prominent manufacturer of advanced technical fabrics, has further refined its production processes through the integration of innovative measurement and control systems from Mahlo. The company initially adopted Mahlo systems in 2020 and has continued to advance its capabilities.
SAATI Group, known for its precision and quality, produces essential materials such as filter fabric for blood transfusion devices, aramid fabric for bulletproof vests, and functional fabric for mobile phones and tablets. Maintaining high-quality standards is crucial, as many of these materials serve vital functions in industries like medical technology and security.
The installation of Mahlo’s Orthopac FMC-15 distortion control system and a Famacont PMC-15 yarn density meter at the stenter frame’s outfeed has further optimized SAATI’s production. The PMC-15, a camera-based measuring system, continuously monitors and records the exact thread count, an essential quality feature for SAATI’s technical fabrics. The FMC-15 simultaneously addresses residual distortion, eliminating back sheet distortion by automatically controlling the stenter frame’s take-off roller, ensuring consistent quality and reducing potential errors.
Building on this success, SAATI integrated an Orthopac GRVMC-15 straightening machine at the stenter frame infeed in 2024. This system, with a 2,800 mm working width, corrects skew and bow distortions in raw fabrics before they enter the stenter frame. According to Operations Manager Thomas Brockmeier, this addition has further perfected the control of fabric quality, as even slight distortions can render the fabric unusable.
By combining the GRVMC-15 with the previously installed FMC-15, SAATI now benefits from a fully automated system that maximizes monitoring and control. This collaboration ensures the delivery of precisely straightened products, enhancing both quality and production reliability. The integration of Mahlo technologies has not only strengthened SAATI Germany’s production capabilities but also reinforced the company’s commitment to quality and precision. This advancement solidifies SAATI’s position as a leader in innovation and efficiency within the textile industry, securing a significant competitive advantage in the global market
