A full Rieter ring spinning equipment has been ordered by the forward-thinking Italian textile manufacturer Beste Spa. Together with automation and digitisation tools, the most recent Rieter technology will help Beste in establishing a local textile production method in Italy with the goal of creating the best possible quality for luxury brands. The ITACO initiative, which aims to establish a supply chain for Italian cotton that is entirely traceable and organic, includes this investment as a major element.
Beste and Rieter have agreed to provide the newest Rieter technology, including a full ring spinning system, to the recently established spinning mill, FILUM S.R.L., in Bergamo, Italy. In the ITACO project, this is a crucial phase. This includes all stages of the production of cotton, from the creation of clothing in the Prato area to the spinning of cotton in Bergamo and the growing of organic cotton in southern Italy. Because everything is completed within a few hundred km, Beste’s supply chain is completely transparent and offers unrivalled control over sustainability and quality.
The new spinning mill will be fully outfitted with the newest Rieter technology, from winding to fibre preparation. Beste creates combed hair using the completely computerised ring spinning machine G 38, which is outfitted with the compacting device COMPACTapron.compressed yarn that satisfies the strictest requirements for its ITACO line.
Beste’s new spinning mill’s data is connected via the all-in-one digital mill management system ESSENTIAL, which provides the business with a thorough understanding of all pertinent performance metrics from bale to package. The piecing robot that is completely automatic ROBOspin reduces staff deployment and guarantees reliable operation of the ring spinning equipment. Because SERVOtrail Direct’s completely automated roving bobbin transport technology eliminates the need for manual bobbin transfer, it further minimises the demand for staff.
Beste CEO Giovanni Santi says: “We work with partners that share our values and principles. Our need for the best quality is satisfied by Rieter machines, which also allow us to create yarns for our clothing that perfectly capture the style and quality of characteristics of ITACO, our exclusive, completely traceable Italian cotton initiative.
“We are honoured that Beste has selected our technology to accelerate their growth momentum,” says Roger Albrecht, Head of the Rieter Business Group Machines & Systems. This entire Italian system is a fantastic fit for our ring spinning system. production chain, advancing the goal of the ITACO initiative to produce sustainable, high-quality clothing.
