eVent StormST and WindstormST, formerly known as BIO Waterproof and BIO Windproof, provide the same exceptional plant-based/ePTFE-free performance
Kansas City, Missouri — (Released Right Away) – With the recent rebranding of their plant-based, ePTFE-free “BIO Waterproof” and “BIO Windproof” laminates to the new “stormST” and “windstormST” for the SS 2026 product season, eVentĀ® Fabrics, a worldwide leader in waterproof/breathable and windproof fabric laminates, is continuing to evolve their brand.
Together with the previously announced “defy the elements” motto, these brand modifications are meant to bolster and make clear eVent’s position as a top provider of high-performance, sustainable laminates to the outdoor, activewear, fashion, hunting, fishing, golf, cycling, and marketplace for shoes.
Prior to COVID, and maybe before the market was prepared, we released eVent BIO in 2016. We believed that BIO would now be a little misleading given our expanded focus on providing a range of high-performance sustainable laminates,” stated Chad Kelly, President of eVent. textiles. We thought that the term “bio” had lost some of its significance because we saw it appear frequently in consumer markets’ marketing materials. Understanding that this Since dilution may confuse customers and companies alike, we decided to change the names of our products to further set them apart. The new names, stormST and windstormST, better reflect the weather resistance of the laminates and are a more natural match for our product design. safeguarding performance and more firmly expressing our new slogan, “defy the elements.”
In order to facilitate a seamless transition to the new stormST waterproof and windstormST, eVent will stop marketing and providing BIO branded assets in February 2025, including for BIO footwear, which will also be stormST. names of windproof products. Through the middle of 2026, eVent BIO clothing and footwear will be available on the market to accommodate sales cycles and changeover schedules.
At Performance Days in Munich this March, eVent will present the stormST and windstormST to the materials sourcing sector.
