Before the planned commercial operation date, DeltaCorp’s Sindi Multimodal Logistics Park in Maharashtra state, India, is expected to start operations in the new year. It may export to Bangladesh via the riverine route.
In December of last year, the Sindi dry port was officially opened.
The goods will be transported by train to Haldia, West Bengal, and then transported by river boats toBangladesh. According to a domestic media source, this would lower transportation costs, making exports more competitive. Cotton (from Vidarbha), gearbox towers, auto components, two- and three-wheelers, tractors, and perishable goods like oranges are all anticipated to be supported by the facility.
