
The Technical Research Advisory Committee (TRAC) Meeting of the Wool Research Association (WRA) was held on Friday, 28th February 2025 in a hybrid format—both in-person at WRA’s conference room and virtually.

A total of 25 members from industries, academia, and research institutes, including TRAC members and special invitees, participated in the meeting. WRA scientists presented updates on ongoing R&D projects funded by various agencies such as the National Technical Textile Mission (NTTM), Central Wool Development Board (CWDB), and National Jute Board (NJB).

They also discussed future research plans focusing on areas relevant to the Woollen Industry, Sports Textiles, Agro Textiles, and various technical textile applications. Key topics included extreme cold climate clothing, protective textiles, m-aramid fibre development, sustainable practices, and the conversion of natural resources into industrial products.

The meeting featured extensive discussions and idea-sharing among TRAC members. In his welcome address, Shri H.K. Chatterjee, Director General of WRA, emphasized the association’s commitment to R&D that directly benefits the textile industry. Participants appreciated WRA’s R&D efforts and explored the association’s Research Infrastructure and Testing Facilities.
