USA-based Sci-Lume Labs® Inc. becomes a Corporate Member

Sci-Lume Labs has developed Bylon®, an inexpensive circular material derived from renewable agricultural waste. By creating “scalably sourced, earth-digestible, and 100% recyclable clothing accessible to everyone,” Bylon hopes to end the fashion sustainability loop.

Additionally, Sci-Lume Labs won the 2024 ITMF Start-up Award.

“ITMF is extremely proud to have start-ups like Sci-Lume Labs apply for and win the ITMF Start-up Award,” said Mr. Christian Schindler, Director General of ITMF. It is crucial that ITMF brings together reputable clothing and textile businesses with

new businesses on the ITMF platform. The goal is for them to gain from one another. While established businesses have industry knowledge and experience that may assist start-ups in scaling up, startups are contributing fresh concepts and technology. Being a member of ITMF also gives Sci-Lume Labs exclusive access to pertinent data and a global network spanning the textile value chain.

“Being a member of ITMF helps us to get a better understanding of the textile industry’s dynamics,” stressed Mr. Oliver Shafaat, CEO of Sci-Lume Labs Inc. Additionally, members of the ITMF represent all facets of the global textile value chain, and it is essential to

foster cooperation and communication amongst these many parties. To provide the circular and sustainable solutions the world requires, all facets of our sector must collaborate. The shift to a more circular textiles business is made possible in large part by platforms like ITMF.
