Source Launches Web Data Ecosystem to Support AI Growth

The new ecosystem brings together five web intelligence companies to support AI development, market research, cybersecurity and access to public web data.

Source launched on October 13, 2026, to bring together five web intelligence companies. The ecosystem serves businesses, startups, AI labs, governments and nonprofits. Based in Vilnius, Lithuania, it aims to improve access to public web data and support the development of data-driven products.

The launch follows a sharp rise in demand for web data infrastructure. According to the announcement, demand across Source companies grew fourfold over the past year. The increase was driven by next-generation search, AI agents and advanced AI products.

Five Companies Join the Source Ecosystem

Source brings together Oxylabs, Decodo, Webshare, Honeygain and ScrapingBee.

The ecosystem began with Oxylabs more than a decade ago. It has since grown through product development, acquisitions and investments. According to the announcement, the group reached a valuation of $3.6 billion in a fundraise led by Warburg Pincus in 2026.

Each company will continue to operate independently under its own brand. However, the wider ecosystem will support further research and development (R&D). It also aims to expand its services to meet growing demand for AI-ready data.

Supporting AI, Business and Cybersecurity

Source companies provide web data infrastructure for several industries. Their services help organisations collect and use publicly available online information.

AI developers use web data to support search tools and AI agents. Businesses use it for market research, competitive analysis and trading decisions.

The ecosystem also supports cybersecurity firms that monitor online threats. Government agencies use web data to detect illegal content and online fraud. Nonprofits rely on it to monitor and expose disinformation.

These applications show how public web data supports research, security and business decisions across sectors.

Global Team Focuses on Innovation

Source has 800 employees across Europe, the United States and Asia. More than 350 are developers and engineers, according to the company.

The ecosystem has also developed more than 180 patents and holds 215 trademarks. These figures reflect its focus on technology development and intellectual property.

Vytautas Savickas, CEO of Source, highlighted the growing role of data in the development of autonomous systems.

“The modern world runs on data, and autonomous agents are now speeding up innovation across every sector,” said Savickas. “For these systems to work, responsible access to public web data is no longer just a technical tool. It is the core infrastructure for the next wave of progress.”

Promoting Responsible Access to Web Data

The Source launch gives a shared identity to a group that has expanded beyond its origins as a single company. The participating businesses will continue to operate independently while benefiting from the wider ecosystem.

Savickas said the new structure would help the companies strengthen their approach to responsible access to public web data and support future growth.

“Source gives a clear identity to an ecosystem that has grown well beyond a single company story,” said Savickas. “It gives us a stronger foundation, a unified voice in defending responsible access to public web data, and a better way to support the companies across our ecosystem as we continue to grow.”

Source aims to build on its combined expertise and resources as demand for web data increases. Its focus remains on supporting AI development, business intelligence and other applications that depend on public online information.
