Uster Technologies Joins WTiN Circularity Week as Innovation Sponsor

The Swiss textile quality management specialist will present a session on recycled cotton quality and its role in scaling circular textile production during the virtual event from 10–12 November 2026.

LEEDS, UK, 22 October 2026: World Textile Information Network (WTiN) has announced Uster Technologies as the Innovation Sponsor of its second annual Textile & Apparel Circularity Week, scheduled to take place virtually from 10 to 12 November 2026.

Uster Technologies, a Switzerland-based provider of textile quality management solutions, offers instruments, systems and services covering the production chain from fibres to fabrics. Its Uster Statistics are widely used as global benchmarks for textile production and trading. The company celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2026.

Quality Control for Recycled Cotton

As recycled fibres become more widely adopted in textile manufacturing, spinners and manufacturers require reliable methods to measure and control the quality of recycled materials. Uster has previously published practical guidance on mechanically recycled raw materials through its Sustainability Bulletin, highlighting the role of quality control in supporting recycling at industrial scale.

As Innovation Sponsor, Uster will contribute to the event’s discussions on textile circularity through a session titled The Second Life of Cotton — and How Quality Decides Its Future.

The presentation will be delivered by Christine Woerner, Head of Textile Technology Switzerland at Uster Technologies AG. It will examine recycled cotton and the importance of material quality in determining its suitability for yarn production and the manufacture of finished products.

Woerner brings more than 26 years of experience in the textile industry, covering fabric quality management, textile technology and spinning trials. She has also led Uster’s Textile Technology team in Switzerland for the past three years.

Industry Leaders Highlight the Importance of Quality

Madelaine Thomas, Managing Director at WTiN, emphasised the importance of consistent material quality in scaling recycled cotton production.

“Recycled cotton only has a future if its quality is consistent enough to use at commercial scale. Uster has spent 150 years helping the industry measure and manage quality, so we are pleased to welcome them as Innovation Sponsor.”

Christine Woerner highlighted the relationship between quality management and the commercial viability of recycled cotton.

“Recycled cotton can only compete if manufacturers can rely on its quality. Measuring and managing it is what turns a promising idea into a commercial product and Circularity Week brings together the people who need to have that conversation.”

Uster joins Event Partner Interloop and Friends of Conference Ecomondo and ITMA 2027 in supporting the 2026 edition of Textile & Apparel Circularity Week.
