Rieter Reports CHF 951.4 Million Order Intake in Nine Months of 2026

Sales reach CHF 898.6 million as China and India show stronger investment activity, while the company adjusts its full-year 2026 outlook.

Swiss textile machinery manufacturer Rieter reported an order intake of CHF 951.4 million in the first nine months of 2026, an increase of 70.1% compared with CHF 559.3 million in the same period of 2025. The growth was primarily driven by the first-time consolidation of its Man-Made Fiber Division following the acquisition of Barmag.

Despite the increase in reported figures, order intake declined 10.5% on an organic basis. Sales reached CHF 898.6 million, up 96.3% from CHF 457.7 million in the corresponding period last year. Organically, sales decreased 2.1%.

The company also reported an order backlog of approximately CHF 850 million as of September 30, 2026. Its restructuring programmes continued to progress, while the outlook for the full year was adjusted.

Rieter Completes Barmag Acquisition Integration

Rieter completed the acquisition of Barmag on February 2, 2026. As a result, the Man-Made Fiber Division contributed eight months of results to the reporting period.

The first-time consolidation of this division significantly influenced the company’s reported order intake and sales growth during the first nine months of 2026. The difference between reported and organic performance highlights the impact of the acquisition on the company’s financial development.

Textile Machinery Markets Show Regional Differences

Investment activity across Rieter’s markets varied considerably during the reporting period.

China and India demonstrated comparatively stronger investment activity, while a sustained recovery was not evident across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, or the Americas.

Regional sales figures were also significantly influenced by the consolidation of the Man-Made Fiber Division.

China Records Strong Sales Growth

Rieter’s sales in China increased 279.3% during the first nine months of 2026. The acquisition-related impact accounted for 231.3 percentage points of this growth, while organic sales growth reached 50.6%.

The figures indicate that China was a comparatively stronger market for the company during the reporting period, with both acquisition-related contributions and organic growth supporting the increase.

India Reports 68.3% Sales Growth

Sales in India increased 68.3% during the first nine months of 2026.

The positive impact of the Man-Made Fiber Division consolidation amounted to 71.8%, while currency movements had a negative impact of 8.3%. After accounting for these effects, organic sales growth stood at 4.8%.

India’s performance therefore reflected the combined influence of the acquisition, currency movements and underlying business activity.

Europe, Middle East and Africa See Lower Sales

Rieter’s sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa declined 9.3% during the first nine months of 2026.

Although the consolidation of the Man-Made Fiber Division contributed a positive impact of 28.6%, organic sales performance declined 36.4%.

The figures indicate that the acquisition-related contribution was insufficient to offset the decline in organic sales across the region.

Americas Record Sales Decline

Sales in the Americas fell 32.9% during the reporting period. On an organic basis, the decline was 51.1%, while the positive impact of the Man-Made Fiber Division consolidation amounted to 20.9%.

The regional performance reflects the weaker market conditions reported by Rieter across the Americas during the first nine months of 2026.

Rieter Adjusts Full-Year 2026 Outlook

Rieter’s first-nine-month results reflect a combination of acquisition-driven growth and differing regional market conditions. While reported order intake and sales increased substantially, organic performance remained lower than in the previous year.

The company continued implementing its restructuring programmes and adjusted its outlook for the full year 2026.

With an order backlog of approximately CHF 850 million as of September 30, 2026, the company’s subsequent performance will depend on order execution, market investment activity and developments across its regional markets.
