Thiagarajar Mills and Euro Textiles Announce ₹100-Crore Project
According to a company statement, the venture aims to strengthen India’s textile exports. To achieve this, the partners plan to use advanced manufacturing technology and improve access to international markets.
The new facility will produce premium-quality 100% cotton jacquard fabrics. It will also manufacture other value-added textile products for export markets. Meanwhile, the company aims to begin commercial production within eight months, according to the release.
New Facility to Install 48 Advanced Air-Jet Looms
The project will include 48 advanced air-jet looms with Jacquard technology. In addition, modern warping and sizing facilities will support production.
During the first phase, the facility aims to produce 3 million metres of fabric each year. The second phase will then double annual capacity to 6 million metres.
This phased plan will help the venture increase production as export demand grows. Furthermore, the second phase will focus on value-added technical textiles and niche patented fabrics. These products will serve the growing non-conventional textile segment, the release said.
India–EU Fabric Trade and Export Potential
The proposed investment comes as India seeks to strengthen its position in global textile markets. The European Union is an important market for textile products.
According to the release, India’s fabric exports to the EU reached approximately $0.08 billion in 2025. In comparison, the EU’s fabric imports stood at $2.38 billion that year.
Against this backdrop, the venture plans to focus on export markets from the start. Initially, the facility will produce premium cotton jacquard fabrics and other value-added textile products. Later, the second phase will expand into technical textiles and niche patented fabrics.
