The 2 December 2026 event will bring together Indian textile industry leaders and European technology providers to explore automation, AI, technical textiles and energy-efficient manufacturing.
As India’s textile industry moves towards greater efficiency, sustainability and higher-value production, advanced manufacturing technologies are gaining importance. Against this backdrop, VDMA India and the VDMA Textile Machinery Association will organise the India-Europe Textile Machinery & Technology Forum on 2 December 2026 in Mumbai.
The one-day conference and B2B event will connect decision-makers from India’s textile industry with experts from leading VDMA member companies and their Indian partners. The forum will showcase technologies and practical solutions to improve productivity, enhance product quality and strengthen the international competitiveness of textile manufacturers.
Key topics will include automation and digitalisation, AI-supported quality control, technical textiles, nonwovens, energy-efficient production and advanced finishing technologies. In addition, participants will have the opportunity to explore European technology solutions and discuss their applications directly with technology providers.
Leading Textile Machinery Companies to Present Technologies
Experts from the following VDMA member companies will present their solutions at the Mumbai forum:
Barmag, BW Converting, Georg Sahm, Groz-Beckert, Lenze, Mahlo, Thies, Trützschler Nonwovens and Weitman + Konrad (Weko).
Alongside the technology sessions, the event will cover export credit guarantees (ECG) offered by the German Government. These guarantees provide an instrument to support trade between India and Germany.
Addressing India’s Textile Value Chain
The forum is designed for textile and nonwoven manufacturers and exporters across the value chain. These include businesses involved in spinning, winding, knitting, weaving, nonwovens, dyeing and finishing.
The technologies and discussions will also address applications in apparel, home textiles and technical textiles.
The event will particularly interest senior industry decision-makers, including mill owners, CEOs, managing directors, technical directors and plant managers. It also welcomes professionals responsible for automation and AI, digital transformation, engineering, maintenance and production.
Furthermore, executives working in sustainability, circularity, quality management and energy management are encouraged to participate. The forum will also be relevant to professionals involved in mill modernisation and operational excellence.
Support from Leading Indian Textile Associations
The India-Europe Textile Machinery & Technology Forum is supported by the Indian Technical Textile Association (ITTA), the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI) and the Manmade and Technical Textiles Export Promotion Council (MATEXIL).
Other textile associations and media representatives are also welcome to participate and support the event.
