Uttar Pradesh Lines Up ₹7.55 Lakh Crore Investment Across 7,000 Projects for GBC@5.0

Proposed investments span all 75 districts, with data centres, energy, manufacturing and infrastructure among the key sectors

Uttar Pradesh has lined up nearly 7,000 investment projects worth more than ₹7.55 lakh crore across all 75 districts for the fifth edition of its Ground Breaking Ceremony (GBC@5.0).

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed preparations for the event and directed officials to complete land arrangements, statutory approvals, infrastructure and other requirements within specified timelines.

According to Invest UP, the proposed investment pipeline includes around 3,500 projects being facilitated through various departments, more than 3,500 projects linked to the district-level Nivesh Sarathi portal and over 100 large projects being handled directly by Invest UP.

West Uttar Pradesh accounts for nearly ₹4.75 lakh crore of the proposed investment, followed by more than ₹1.2 lakh crore in eastern Uttar Pradesh, over ₹80,000 crore in central Uttar Pradesh and more than ₹60,000 crore in Bundelkhand.

The pipeline also includes around 90 projects involving investments of more than ₹1,000 crore each. Together, these projects account for nearly ₹4.75 lakh crore in proposed investments.

Data Centres and Manufacturing Lead Investment Pipeline

The proposed investments cover data centres, energy, real estate, infrastructure, IT and electronics, food processing, steel and cement, pharmaceuticals and chemicals, textiles and apparel, automobiles and tourism.

Data centres account for around ₹1.8 lakh crore in proposed investments, while energy projects represent more than ₹1.15 lakh crore and real estate accounts for over ₹75,000 crore.

Manufacturing-related proposals total nearly ₹2.75 lakh crore, while infrastructure-linked sectors account for around ₹1.5 lakh crore.

Government Reviews Progress of Previous Ground Breaking Ceremonies

Reviewing the progress of the first four editions of the Ground Breaking Ceremony, the state government said more than 16,000 projects had been taken up through GBC 1.0 to GBC 4.0.

More than 8,000 projects have already commenced commercial operations, while over 8,000 remain at various stages of implementation.

Adityanath said the GBC should be viewed not merely as a platform for launching investment projects but as a mechanism to accelerate employment, production and economic activity across the state.

He directed departments to monitor project-wise approvals and preparedness for GBC@5.0 and maintain regular engagement with investors to resolve bottlenecks.

The chief minister also reviewed the disbursement of financial incentives to investors. He instructed officials to ensure that eligible investors receive approved incentives within the prescribed timelines.

Emphasising transparency, he said investors should not have to make repeated visits to government offices to secure payments.

Uttar Pradesh Strengthens Expressway Safety Measures

The meeting also reviewed recent road accidents on various expressways across the state. Adityanath directed officials to conduct technical and operational assessments of accident-prone stretches and strengthen preventive measures.

The proposed measures include identifying accident black spots, enforcing speed limits more strictly, improving visibility management during fog, strengthening surveillance through cameras and radar systems, and enhancing checks on vehicle fitness and driver alertness at toll plazas.
