YarnProof Launches FibreTrace Physical Verification Across the Americas

Ten polyester filament yarn producers across North and Central America have adopted FibreTrace technology to improve material traceability and support origin verification.

Polyester filament yarn producers across North and Central America have launched YarnProof™, powered by FibreTrace® technology. The initiative enables physical verification of material origin across the textile supply chain.

Announced on October 13, 2026, YarnProof uses an invisible tracer embedded directly into polyester filament yarn during extrusion. Authorised participants can detect the tracer using a handheld scanner. This provides an additional way to verify material origin alongside existing production and sourcing records.

How YarnProof Verifies Polyester Yarn

YarnProof uses FibreTrace technology to embed a persistent, invisible tracer into polyester filament yarn during extrusion. According to the announcement, the tracer remains in the material throughout the product’s life.

A FibreTrace handheld scanner can detect the tracer in yarn, fabric and finished products. Each scan by an authorised participant creates a verification record linked to supporting production and sourcing information.

This process connects physical materials with their documented origins. It also gives manufacturers and brands another way to assess origin claims and strengthen supply chain traceability.

Ten Manufacturers Join the Initiative

Ten polyester filament yarn manufacturers across North and Central America are participating in YarnProof. Their collective adoption aims to strengthen physical verification across regional supply chains.

The participating companies are:

  • Aquafil O’Mara, Inc.
  • CS America, Inc.
  • CS Central America, S.A. de C.V.
  • Nan Ya Plastics Corporation, America
  • Premiere Fibers, LLC
  • Skytex México, S.A. de C.V.
  • Tecnología Textil Avanzada S.A.
  • Textufil S.A. de C.V.
  • Unifi Manufacturing, Inc.
  • United Textiles of America

By adopting a shared verification approach, the producers aim to give supply chain partners better access to evidence supporting material origin claims.

FibreTrace Emphasises Physical Verification

Danielle Statham, Founder and Owner of FibreTrace, welcomed the producers’ decision to work together.

“We commend the polyester filament yarn manufacturers across North and Central America for coming together to lead this,” said Statham.

She added:

“To our knowledge, this is the first regional group of fiber producers to collaborate at this scale to strengthen their position through physical verification. By collectively adopting physical verification of materials, they are moving beyond individual origin claims and creating a shared verification framework that connects physical evidence with supporting production and sourcing records. They are not simply telling the market where their fiber comes from — they are giving the market a way to verify it.”

Supporting Traceability and Trade Compliance

YarnProof is designed to complement existing documentation rather than replace it. The technology adds a physical verification layer that can help manufacturers substantiate origin claims and support brands’ sourcing information.

It is also intended to support the yarn-forward requirements associated with the Dominican Republic–Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA-DR) and the United States–Mexico–Canada Agreement (USMCA).

However, physical verification is an additional source of evidence. It does not, by itself, guarantee compliance with every requirement under these trade agreements.

Through YarnProof, participating producers aim to strengthen the link between polyester filament yarn and its documented origin. The initiative also gives brands another tool to consider when developing sourcing and traceability strategies.
