Barmag to Showcase POY 2.0 and Smart Textile Technologies at India ITME 2026

Barmag will showcase its latest technologies for man-made fibre and nonwoven production at India ITME 2026, with a focus on spinning, digital process control, automation, energy efficiency and production flexibility.

The company will exhibit from December 4 to 9, 2026, at booth C15 in Hall 10 at India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Its portfolio will include next-generation spinning concepts, smart factory technologies and solutions for filament, staple fibres and nonwovens.

A key focus will be Barmag POY 2.0, a production concept covering the complete POY process chain, from spinning and quenching to winding and digital process control. The concept includes the Barmag WINGS POY 2.0 winder with a fully automatic string-up function, designed to reduce startup times, minimise waste and lower operator intervention.

“For decades, productivity improvements in spinning were often measured in percentages. With POY 2.0, we set out to rethink the entire process from the ground up,” said André Wissenberg, Head of Marketing, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs at Barmag. “The result is a solution that simultaneously addresses the industry’s most pressing challenges: efficiency, quality, sustainability, and workforce availability. This is not a machine upgrade. It is a new production philosophy.”

POY 2.0 Focuses on Process Integration

The POY 2.0 concept also incorporates the newly developed DIO Spin Pack Generation 2, which is designed to improve rheological performance and filament homogeneity. Its compact design reduces filter sand consumption by approximately one-third and component weight by more than 30 percent.

The redesigned spinning beam is intended to reduce surface areas and deliver energy savings of up to ten percent. Meanwhile, the Barmag EvoQuench 2.0 system focuses on simplified process adjustments, improved filament quenching and easier access for operators.

“Our customers are no longer looking at individual machine specifications,” explained Wissenberg. “They are evaluating total operational performance. Energy efficiency, waste reduction, ease of operation and reproducible quality all directly influence profitability. Our solution POY 2.0 was designed around exactly these priorities.”

Digitalisation Through atmos.io

Alongside machinery, Barmag will highlight its digital platform atmos.io, which is designed to connect production equipment and process data across the yarn manufacturing environment.

The platform continuously captures, analyses and distributes process data. According to Barmag, its digital architecture enables production managers to identify quality deviations, optimise process parameters and use production information for decision-making.

The system also provides digital identification for bobbins across stages ranging from polymer processing to warehouse storage. Its app-based structure allows producers to select functionalities according to their requirements while integrating them into existing infrastructure.

“The future competition among yarn manufacturers will not be decided by who owns the most machines,” said Wissenberg. “It will be decided by who can transform production data into actionable intelligence. atmos.io is enabling exactly that transformation.”

WINGS FDY FLEX Targets Production Flexibility

Barmag will also present WINGS FDY FLEX, a winding concept developed for production flexibility. The system supports a broad production window and rapid product changes across different yarn types, including recycled polyester materials.

The technology is positioned for manufacturing environments where shorter fashion cycles, broader product portfolios and faster changeovers require greater production adaptability.

eFK EvoSmart for Texturing

In texturing, Barmag will showcase the eFK EvoSmart, which combines process control, the EvoHeater system and Smart Godet technology.

The machine can reduce specific energy consumption by as much as 25 percent per kilogram of yarn. Replaceable heater inserts are designed to simplify maintenance, while optimised airflow systems double service intervals and reduce maintenance effort by up to 50 percent.

In June 2026, Barmag partnered with India’s Hitech Automation Solutions to integrate the Doffmatic solution into proven eFK systems. The retrofit-capable approach is intended to support automation of existing texturing installations.

Neumag Expands Staple Fibre Automation

Barmag’s Neumag product line will feature technologies for staple fibre production, including the EvoSteam process. The technology is designed to combine energy savings with improvements in fibre quality, while EvoDuct and EvE-2 address airflow management and monomer extraction.

Neumag is also implementing robotic spin pack cleaning technology. The system is designed to provide consistent cleaning quality, longer service intervals, lower labour requirements and improved process reliability.

“Automation is not about replacing people,” said Wissenberg. “It is about allowing skilled operators to focus on higher-value activities while ensuring greater process consistency and operational excellence.”

BICO BCF and FiberGuard for Carpet Yarn

For carpet yarn production, Neumag will introduce its BICO BCF technology, which creates a yarn structure designed to improve carpet bulk and recovery performance while reducing face fibre consumption by approximately 20 percent.

Another technology, FiberGuard BCF, uses sensors to monitor yarn tension between twisting and winding. The system automatically adjusts production parameters when deviations are detected and can also be retrofitted onto existing BCF installations.

hycuTEC for Nonwoven Applications

Barmag will also present Neumag’s hycuTEC technology for nonwoven production. The patented technology enables meltblown materials to achieve electrostatic charging efficiencies of up to 99.99 percent using osmosis-treated water.

The technology is aimed at applications including filtration, hygiene and other technical textile areas where meltblown materials are used.

Recycling and Polycondensation Technology

Barmag Huitong Engineering will highlight homogenisation technology supporting the thermomechanical recycling of post-industrial polyester waste, including bottle flakes and film material.

The process increases viscosity to produce defined intermediate products for pellets, melt or fibres for direct spinning. The technology is intended to support control over polymer quality while enabling greater use of recycled materials in man-made fibre production.

Barmag’s India ITME 2026 Portfolio

Barmag’s India ITME 2026 presentation brings together technologies covering spinning, winding, digital process management, texturing, staple fibre, carpet yarn, nonwovens and polymer recycling.

The company will present WINGS POY 2.0, atmos.io, WINGS FDY FLEX, eFK EvoSmart, EvoSteam, FiberGuard BCF and hycuTEC, alongside other technologies from Barmag and Neumag.

The company describes the overall portfolio under the theme “A New Era. Powered by Innovation.”
