The Brazilian workwear fabric manufacturer has increased production speeds, improved fabric quality and decommissioned three older stenter frames following the installation.
Brazilian textile manufacturer Cedro Têxtil has reported lower energy consumption, higher production speeds and improved fabric quality following the installation of a Brückner stenter frame. The investment, commissioned just over a year ago, forms part of the company’s ongoing production modernization programme.
With more than 150 years of history, Cedro Têxtil is recognized as Latin America’s largest manufacturer of workwear fabrics. The company selected Brückner technology after evaluating machinery manufacturers from Europe and Asia, visiting production facilities and reference customers, and comparing available technologies.

Equipment Selection Focused on Efficiency and Service
Cedro Têxtil’s selection process considered productivity, maintenance costs, technical support, energy efficiency, spare parts availability and local service in Brazil.
The company said Brückner’s combination of technology, process reliability and energy efficiency influenced its decision.
The new production line has reduced natural gas consumption by more than 20% while enabling significantly higher production speeds. The investment has also improved production performance for demanding super-stretch fabrics.
Improved Dimensional Stability and Fabric Quality
The Brückner stenter’s uniform temperature distribution throughout the dryer supports dimensional stability in super-stretch fabrics, helping the manufacturer maintain consistent product quality.
The increase in productivity following commissioning was sufficient for Cedro Têxtil to decommission three older stenter frames. The change has reduced operating costs and streamlined production processes.
Sustainability Remains a Strategic Priority
Cedro Têxtil has incorporated sustainability into its corporate strategy for several years. The company participates in Brazil’s GHG Protocol Program and has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions by 85% in recent years.
The investment in energy-efficient production equipment supports these efforts while addressing customer interest in sustainable manufacturing and responsible supply chains.
Workwear Fabrics Account for 65% of Production
Workwear fabrics represent approximately 65% of Cedro Têxtil’s production. Its products are used in manufacturing, healthcare, military applications and personal protective equipment (PPE).
The company has an annual production capacity of more than 60 million linear metres of fabric, annual revenue of approximately BRL 1.2 billion and a workforce of more than 2,600 employees.
Further Modernization Planned
Cedro Têxtil is considering replacing additional existing production lines with Brückner technology as part of its continued modernization programme.
Patrick Melo Pinheiro, Industrial Director of Cedro Têxtil, said:
“We are a company that continuously reinvents itself and has overcome countless challenges throughout its history. Whether currency fluctuations, world wars, or the recent pandemic, we have always viewed every challenge as an opportunity to become stronger. By investing in a Brückner production line, we have taken an important step towards a more sustainable future and significantly reduced our carbon footprint. With Brückner as our partner, we can further strengthen the highest quality standards in our market and expand our leading position in a highly competitive environment.”
