LYCRA VintageFX EcoMade fabric and COOLMAX CloakFX fibre target comfort, durability, perspiration management and more responsible material choices.
The LYCRA Company will introduce two new textile innovations at Kingpins Amsterdam Autumn 2026. The launches include LYCRA VintageFX EcoMade fabric for denim and COOLMAX CloakFX fibre for woven apparel. Both products are designed to address demand for clothing that combines comfort, durability, style and functional performance.
LYCRA VintageFX EcoMade Supports Sustainable Denim
LYCRA VintageFX EcoMade fabric expands the company’s comfort-stretch portfolio. It is designed to help mills, brands and retailers develop heritage-inspired denim and woven fabrics while maintaining fit, recovery and durability.
Built on the existing LYCRA VintageFX fabric platform, the EcoMade version is designed to deliver equivalent performance. It incorporates BPA-free polyester made from 100% recycled pre-consumer waste.
The fabric is intended for low-stretch denim and woven constructions. Its features include:
- Authentic denim appearance: Supports traditional denim aesthetics while improving freedom of movement and recovery.
- Controlled comfort stretch: Provides functional stretch without making fabrics excessively elastic.
- Shape retention: Helps reduce fabric growth and maintain garment shape, including after demanding washing and bleaching processes.
- Stability in relaxed fits: Supports better shape retention around the waist, hips and seat in loose silhouettes.
- Lightweight construction: Enables compact fabrics with less bulk and improved drape.
- Garment durability: Helps reduce seam slippage and improve garment integrity.
- Invisible stretch: Preserves the authentic look and character of denim.
These features are intended to help manufacturers develop denim garments that balance heritage-inspired styling with everyday comfort and performance.
COOLMAX CloakFX Extends Sweat-Masking Technology
The company will also introduce COOLMAX CloakFX fibre for woven fabrics. The innovation extends its sweat-masking technology into a wider range of lifestyle and ready-to-wear applications.
The technology is designed to help conceal the visible appearance of perspiration. It aims to support comfort and confidence throughout the day while retaining the style and versatility expected from modern woven garments.
Visitors to Kingpins Amsterdam will also be able to preview the company’s Heritage Workwear collection, which features performance woven fabrics.
Focus on Comfort and Material Innovation
Ebru Ozaydin, global product category director for denim, wovens and ready-to-wear at The LYCRA Company, said the new denim fabric aims to preserve the authentic character of denim while introducing material innovations.
“LYCRA VintageFX EcoMade fabric shows how denim innovation can move forward without losing the authentic character consumers value, while also offering the opportunity to combine it with Renewable LYCRA fiber. Through close collaboration with value chain partners, this opens the door to brand new denim and woven fabric concepts, creating more responsible material choices and stronger consumer stories,” Ozaydin said.
She added that the company is developing a broader innovation platform for performance wovens, beginning with the sweat-masking performance of COOLMAX CloakFX fibre.
NATURALLS Collection Highlights Value Chain Collaboration
The LYCRA Company will also present its involvement in NATURALLS, a collaborative capsule denim collection developed with Avalo, Neela and SOKO.
Designed by Gordon Muir of Labor Made Inc., the collection pays tribute to the farmers whose work supports the denim industry. It brings together different capabilities across the textile value chain.
The collection combines Avalo’s low-input regenerative cotton, Neela’s spinning, weaving and garment manufacturing expertise, SOKO’s low-impact finishing technologies, and Renewable LYCRA fibre from The LYCRA Company, which is made with 70% renewable content.
The resulting garments demonstrate how collaboration across fibre cultivation, fabric production, garment manufacturing and finishing can help address sustainability challenges while maintaining stretch, fit, comfort and the appearance of premium denim.
