Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 Adopts Kornit Presto MAX

Italian textile dyeing and finishing specialist Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 has integrated the Kornit Presto MAX into its production operations.

The investment is aimed at expanding the company’s premium textile offering, improving manufacturing efficiency and supporting demand for more flexible textile production.

The company is based in Biella, Italy, a major textile manufacturing district. Founded in 1972, Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 specialises in dyeing, finishing, printing and lamination.

Digital Textile Printing with Presto MAX

The Kornit Presto MAX is designed for industrial roll-to-roll textile printing.

The system uses pigment printing in a single-step process. According to Kornit Digital, the process eliminates pre-treatment and post-treatment steps.

This can reduce water and energy consumption while shortening production time. It also supports on-demand production and shorter manufacturing runs.

Focus on Digital Transformation

Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 has continued to invest in technology as part of its manufacturing development.

The company identified three priorities for its latest investment:

  • Developing new textile products
  • Reducing water use in textile printing
  • Supporting customised and shorter production runs

According to Dino Masso, Owner and CEO of Tintoria Finissaggio 2000, the Presto MAX addressed these requirements.

“In Italy, we describe our work as ‘ennobling’ fabrics,” said Dino Masso, Owner and CEO of Tintoria Finissaggio 2000. “That means transforming a fabric into something better through technology, creativity and know-how. Every investment we make is about creating new opportunities for our customers, and Presto MAX represents the next evolution of that philosophy.”

Masso said water consumption has been an important consideration for the company as a dye house.

“We were looking for a technology that would allow us to create something entirely new while dramatically improving sustainability,” Masso explained. “As a dye house, water consumption has always been a major consideration. Presto MAX gave us a truly water-free digital printing solution while also providing the flexibility to serve a market that increasingly demands customised, agile production.”

Developing Premium Pigment Printing

The company has also worked with Kornit to develop fabrics using pigment printing for premium applications.

Traditional perceptions of pigment printing have included concerns around hand feel, colour vibrancy and durability compared with reactive and acid printing.

Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 said its work with Kornit produced fabrics with colour, softness and print definition suited to its applications.

“When we saw the first results, we were genuinely impressed,” Masso said. “The quality, the hand feel and the appearance exceeded our expectations. That was the moment we knew we had made the right investment.”

Fewer Processing Steps

Fabrics produced through the Presto MAX process do not require the washing, steaming or additional post-processing associated with some conventional printing processes.

The company said this has helped reduce production time and improve operational responsiveness.

The technology also allows Tintoria Finissaggio 2000 to develop new products and support shorter, more customised production runs.

Supporting On-Demand Textile Production

The Presto MAX is now integrated into Tintoria Finissaggio 2000’s manufacturing workflow.

The company said the technology is enabling it to explore new products and markets while working with customers seeking more flexible and demand-driven textile production.

“We don’t see Presto MAX simply as a printing machine,” Masso concluded. “It’s a platform that changes the way we serve the market. As the textile industry moves toward producing only what is needed, technologies like this will be essential for building a faster, more sustainable and more flexible supply chain.”
