Trident Group Hosts First Craft and Design Workshop to Celebrate Indian Art

Trident Group organised its inaugural two-day Craft and Design Workshop on 27 October 2026, celebrating India’s artistic heritage and traditional crafts. The event brought together master artists, creative institutions, employees and children. More than 100 people participated in the workshop, which provided opportunities for hands-on learning, artistic exploration and cultural appreciation.

The programme featured four activities: pottery, Batik art, Gond art and a do-it-yourself (DIY) workshop. Each session introduced participants to different art forms and techniques. Established artists and creative institutions led the activities, sharing their knowledge and expertise.

Four Workshops Introduce Traditional Art Forms

The Craft and Design Workshop offered participants practical experience in four creative disciplines. Each activity highlighted different techniques and approaches to artistic expression.

Batik Art Workshop

Himanshu Art Institute, Delhi, conducted the Batik art session. Participants learned about the traditional art form, its intricate techniques and distinctive patterns.

Gond Art Workshop

Master artist Anand Kumar Shyam from Bhopal led the Gond art session. The workshop introduced participants to the visual storytelling traditions associated with this art form.

Pottery Workshop

Creative Arts Institute, Ludhiana, facilitated the pottery session. Participants experienced the process of shaping clay and explored the techniques behind this traditional craft.

DIY Workshop

Aubergiene, Ludhiana, conducted the DIY workshop. The session encouraged participants to use their imagination, develop creative skills and explore hands-on activities.

Promoting India’s Traditional Craft Heritage

A key focus of the initiative was the preservation and promotion of India’s artistic heritage. Each workshop introduced participants to the traditions, techniques and creativity that shape Indian craftsmanship.

By bringing artists and participants together, Trident Group created an opportunity to explore the cultural importance of traditional art forms. The sessions also highlighted the work of artists and artisan communities who continue to practise and preserve these skills.

Moreover, the workshops encouraged participants to appreciate the knowledge and dedication involved in traditional craftsmanship.

Encouraging Creativity Across Generations

The initiative provided a learning experience for children and adults alike. Children explored different art forms, developed creative skills and used their imagination in a hands-on setting.

For adults, the sessions offered an opportunity to reconnect with India’s cultural heritage. They also provided a chance to understand why traditional crafts need continued appreciation and practice.

By involving different generations, the workshop encouraged participants to share knowledge and pass creative traditions on to younger people.

Connecting Traditional Crafts with Modern Lifestyles

Traditional Indian crafts continue to hold cultural significance in a rapidly changing world. Therefore, introducing these art forms to new audiences can help maintain interest in their techniques and history.

Trident Group’s inaugural workshop brought traditional craftsmanship into a contemporary learning environment. It encouraged younger participants to explore these practices while helping adults recognise their value.

The initiative also highlighted the role of practical experiences in making traditional art more accessible to different age groups.

Trident Group Supports Creativity and Cultural Appreciation

Through its first Craft and Design Workshop, Trident Group highlighted creativity, employee engagement and cultural appreciation. The event combined hands-on activities with opportunities to learn about India’s artistic traditions.

By bringing together artists, employees, children and creative institutions, the initiative promoted awareness of traditional Indian crafts. It also reinforced the importance of experiencing, appreciating and sharing these art forms to help preserve the country’s artistic heritage.
