Volvo Construction Equipment India has commercially launched the EC650, a 65-tonne-class mining excavator, at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, alongside a range of construction, compactors, mining and electric equipment solutions.
Volvo Construction Equipment India has commercially launched the EC650 mining excavator at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026. The 65T-class excavator expands the company’s mining equipment line-up and is available for immediate deliveries to mining customers as the buying season begins.
The EC650 is powered by the Volvo D13E engine, delivering 435 hp. According to Volvo CE, the machine features a robust undercarriage, heavy-duty boom and arm, and advanced hydraulics designed for mass excavation and mining applications.
The machine will also be available through Volvo’s Equipment-as-a-Service offering. The company said its customer support extends beyond the equipment itself through connected services, productivity solutions, repair and maintenance agreements, and application-led offerings.
EC650 Anchors Volvo CE Mining Equipment Showcase
At Volvo CE’s stand in the Construction & Industrial zone, the company is showcasing its 20-tonne excavator range comprising the EC210, EC215 and EC220.
The machines are positioned for applications including road construction, urban construction, quarrying and river-bed mining. The display also includes the EC300, SD110, DD90 and L120 Electric Wheel Loader.
In the Mining zone, the EC480, EC650 and L150 are featured as part of an application-led equipment showcase.
The EC650 launch is accompanied by Volvo CE’s ‘Aaj Banayein Kal’ campaign, which translates to “Let’s Build Tomorrow, Today.” The campaign focuses on India’s infrastructure development through the experiences of children, contractors, customers and operators involved in building infrastructure.
Volvo CE Highlights Mining Sector Requirements
Speaking at the event, Dimitrov Krishnan, Managing Director, Volvo Construction Equipment India, said: “India’s mining sector is operating at a scale and intensity like never before, and it demands equipment that cannot just perform reliably in the toughest and most demanding conditions, but also are fuel efficient and responsive to operators. Volvo CE said the EC650 launch is part of its broader focus on supporting equipment requirements across India’s construction and mining sectors.
Technology Centre Investment in Bengaluru
Volvo CE has also announced an investment in its Technology Centre in Bengaluru, which will focus on research and development, localisation and product innovation for India and global markets.
The company said its equipment and customer solutions are supported in India through a nationwide dealer network, including spare parts and aftermarket services.
