Barmag has launched a Chinese-language version of its Digital Academy for the bulked continuous filament (BCF) process. The online training platform first launched three years ago in English, Spanish, French and Turkish.
Online training helps manufacturers train staff with less disruption to production. It also provides focused lessons and faster access to technical knowledge. According to Barmag, the Digital Academy has 450 active users, most of whom are based in the United States. With the new Chinese version, more customers can now access the training.
Taicang Universal Fibers Co. Ltd. is already using the platform to train employees on its machines.
“With the Digital Academy, we can provide our employees with optimal support and further increase the efficiency of our equipment,” says Tom Yu, Facility Manager at Taicang Universal Fibers.
Online Training for BCF Machine Operation and Maintenance
Customers can access the Digital Academy through Barmag’s e-commerce platform, myBarmag.com. It offers online courses on operating, maintaining and repairing the Neumag BCF S+ and S8 systems.
The programme supports machine operators, process engineers, technicians and quality managers. Users can access short lessons designed for their roles on computers and mobile devices. As a result, employees can apply what they learn directly to their daily work.
The platform also shares Barmag’s original equipment manufacturer (OEM) expertise. It teaches standard procedures for machine operation and maintenance. This approach helps users follow established practices instead of relying only on methods developed at individual facilities.
In addition, participants can test their knowledge through progress assessments. Exams and certificates record their learning achievements. Feedback features also help users resolve questions about the course content.
Barmag grants access to the Digital Academy based on specific locations or companies.
Barmag Expands Its Digital Training Programmes
Barmag plans to extend its online training to other production processes. The company is preparing to launch a programme for the partially oriented yarn (POY) process. Meanwhile, it is developing online courses for the staple fibre process.
These new programmes will give customers using other Barmag and Neumag technologies access to online technical training. Furthermore, the expansion will cover more areas of fibre production and help manufacturers build employee skills.
